Although Martin’s sound kit is digital, he still uses turntables to control the music. It is a visible part of the performance and connects directly back to his scratch DJ roots.

Started As A Mobile DJ In Somerset
Built the foundations in real rooms, real crowds and real event environments long before playlists replaced craft.
Breakdance Crew And Scratch DJ Roots
Was part of a breakdance crew, doing some breaking but mainly working as the scratch DJ behind the crew.
DMC Heat Competitor
Entered the Bristol DMC mixing championship heats in 1986, 1987 and 1988, placing second in 1986 and 1987, and third in 1988.
Moved Into Mainstream Clubs
Progressed into mainstream clubs, starting at MrB’s in Weston-super-Mare, developing the pacing and live reading that still shape his style now.
Luminar Leisure, Launches And DJ Management
Joined Luminar Leisure, helped open the first Chicago Rock Café in Luton, became opening DJ at 64 venues and managed around 200 DJs across the estate.
Opened Legends In Bristol City Centre
Left Luminar to open Legends, his own bar in Bristol city centre. The venue had two successful years before dockside development changed the area.
Returned To Mobile DJ Work
Set himself up again as a mobile DJ and began working under the name Martin The Music Maestro.
