About Me
My name is Martin Eccles and I started DJ’ing in in 1981, at the age of 16. As a young teenager I would look forward to the school disco so I could marvel at what the DJ was doing and at all the fancy lights. I knew at once that is what I wanted to do. It was hard at first because my local venue didn’t want me playing there because I was under age, so my parents had to accompany me! It didn’t take long for things to take off and I was earning a living as a mobile DJ at 19 years old. I had a roadshow for six years, before moving onto the mainstream club circuit.

My experience is mainly club based and I bring that style to every show, reading the crowd to keep the vibe flowing, seamlessly mixing the tracks with some clever DJ tricks thrown in and using the microphone in a natural and professional way to drive the atmosphere along. I have also had a lot of experience as a compere and host, and I am just as comfortable out in front on a stage, as I am behind the DJ booth. When you hire The Music Maestro for your special event you will be receiving the highest quality sound and light system with enough power for a large function room. The setup is unique. It’s clean, modern and looks fantastic in whichever venue we play at.
The size of the show is variable too. We can fit into the corner of your local pub, or fill a large room with a gantry of sophisticated ‘moving head’ lighting effects giving that ‘strictly feeling’! Smoke and haze is available in those venues that allow it.


Although the music is all digital the music maestro prefers the feel of vinyl and the DJ Podium has that classic retro look. The equipment uses the latest technology for mixing the songs together but this is played on turntables, a spectacle in itself!
